Dismembered Corpse Found In Trailer

'Gruesome' Murder Scene Uncovered

Mint Hill, North Carolina -- Police spent most of the day at what they describe as a gruesome murder where a man was dismembered.

The investigation along Albemarle Road is the first for Mint Hill since the police department began operating two years ago.

Police arrested a suspect in the victim’s murder Monday night. They went to a trailer and the suspect put his hands together like he wanted to be handcuffed and then led them to evidence.

It only took a few minutes for Mint Hill police to solve their first murder ever, but it has taken a little while longer to close out the case.

Police said Hugo Alvarez led them to the remains of his roommate inside the trailer home. Police also said Alvarez led them to a nearby creek where he allegedly disposed of the rest of the body and gave them some clue as to a motive, but they are not releasing that information at this time.

But what police are trying to lock down is the identity of Alvarez’s roommate, who was an immigrant of Mexico. Police hope to find some type of identification.

Neighbors said the victim was a fellow construction worker named Albio Martinez. The Que Pasa newspaper said Alvarez called them and confessed to the crime.

“He called the boss and he said I killed him but he didn’t say why,” said Alexandra Vilchez, Que Pasa newspaper.

Some neighbors moved out of the neighborhood Tuesday, but everyone who remained were shaken.

“I couldn’t sleep because I was so afraid, thinking about what happened,” said a neighbor who did not want to be identified.

Another neighbor, John Gruver, said, “Normally everything around here is pretty quiet so for something like this to happen, it’s stunning. Really, it just makes you wonder.”

Police left the crime scene for the first time all day Tuesday around 4:30 p.m. They said they have a lead on a possible relative of Martinez’s. They are trying to establish next of kin.

Because of the nature of the crime and because it was the first in Mint Hill, police called in two chaplains to counsel officers. The chief said so far officers are holding up, but he is worried about what will happen when the adrenaline wears off.

My first job ever was at McDonalds and my manager was named Hugo Alvarez. I'm not sure if he moved out of state but he was gay, so it wouldn't be out of the question for him to have a male "roommate".

Hmmm....

I'd like to see a mugshot to see if this is my old boss.
