When Movies Go Bad!

example: halloween: ressurection

one of the worst "horror" movies to date. Totally whoring the slasher genre and the dawsons creek genre to the MAX.

BUTTTT

think about it..THEY HAD GOLD.

The begining was amazing. Seemed like it was going in the right place. BUTT they fucked it.

If the whole movie took place IN the mental instutution...with a simple plot line of "meyers trying to kill jamie lee"....it would have been great....
Nobody would beleive jamie lee when she tells everyone that mike is back..BECAUSEE people beleive all the dead bodies are because of that other psycho that was obsessed with serial killers(the one mikey let out). THEN we finally climax to th end..where jamie lee THENN DIES..and mike walks of finto the night. MOVIE OVER.

Im not a screen writer, just a horror fan..BUTTT what i wrote above i think would please the masses.

can you people name any other movies like that?..movies that almost had a GREAT story, BUT THEN BOMBED and went into the shittiest direction ever..FOR NO REASON.

if so...name the film..and tell us how you would have done it (with spoiler alerts)

He didn't actually let him loose, he just gave him a knife. He got out by himself and seemed pretty harmless.

Halloween Resurrection was ridiculous from the word go, considering heroine Laurie Strode was previously killed in a car accident with her husband in around 1987 (see Halloween 4 for details).

They explained that in H20, she faked it,went to Cal. and worked at the school.

They didn't really explain it all that well considering she left a daughter behind.
Resurrection is horrible. After part 5, the story went to hell. Continuity problems aside, the explaination in Resurrection for how Myers survived the previous movie was just stupid, in my opinion. Actually even though I liked several of them, the first one is the only one that is effective. It is a great horror film with an awesome ending. In a perfect world it would have been left alone.:D

I agree with you, I said it was explained, I didn't say it was explained well or the film was good.

Resurrecting dead franchises is bad enough, resurrecting them with supposedly dead characters is insulting and reeks of fat-cat producers milking the kids for more cash.

It does however bring up an interesting question: do inferior, continuity-affected sequels somehow manage to cheapen the impact of the original films? (Upon repeated viewings of the originals, or just in memory alone?).

Case in point: Alien3, which dispensed with both Hicks and Newt in the opening scenes, effectively making their hair-raising escape to safety at the end of Aliens somewhat redundant. Hats off to the makers of Alien3 for bravely going against the grain, but doubtless this move alienated (!) many fans of the series.

It is insulting....so why do I insist on watching them all? LOL:p
Seriously, I think that in a way it does lessen the impact of the original film. Because they are manipulating the same characters and storylines that you remember. It is bound to bleed over into that initial experience if you watch them all. It changes how you view the original, at least a tiny bit.
