Live Maggots Found Inside M&M Candy Bars Bought At Boca Raton Gas Station
Florida - A Boca Raton woman called police Wednesday after finding live maggots inside 20 M&M candy bars she bought at a Shell Gasoline station. Monica Castanheira, 31, told police she and her family had already started eating the “M-Azing” candy bars at their home on Northwest 13th Street when they noticed the bugs. Officer Ray Reissi responded to the scene and later visited the Shell Gasoline station at 690 Glades Road, where he said a concerned manager pulled the remainder of the candy bars from his shelves. While interviewing the four family members at the Castanheira home, Reissi observed a Shell Gasoline bag, store receipt, and several half-eaten open candy bars. “Monica then showed me the live maggots which were crawling inside the chocolate and M&M candy bars,” Reissi writes in the report. “I asked Monica to open some of the unwrapped candy bars and when she opened them, there live bugs crawling around as well.” The expiration date on the 11 peanut butter and nine crunchy-flavored candy bars was August 2005, Reissi reported. The Castanheira family reported no sickness and refused to be seen by paramedics, he added. Since the case is civil rather than criminal, no charges were filed against the gasoline station.

I hear this happen so often with food. I juts really amasing what can happen if the copmapnies of facotries don't check thiuer product befoire it leaves the area.
