old european cinema in dvd

Hi everybody. I'm creating a society to publish old european fantastic cinema in DVD. Normally, as I'm in France, I won't get the rights to make english subtitles... Maybe yes, I don't know. If there's a big public, I can ask to the right-owners the right to put it. I'd want to know : in America, does a lot of people get a Pal dvd-player ? And do you currently buy DVD region 2, if it's a very rare film and never published ? And are you interested by 50's and 60's movies (fantastic, horror, fairytales, sci-fi, epic, mythological...) from Czech, Poland, Russia, England, Spain, Italia, France, Germany, Swedish... Thanks !

You mean Bava's "Planet of the vampires" (Terrore nello spazio) ? There's already a region 2 DVD, collection "Cinema de quartier", very good. Idem for the german classics. Metropolis, Caligari, Nosferatu got their disc ! Thank you.

Yes, Bava worked on "I vampiri" by Freda, as cinematographer. This movie is still in DVD, region 1, isn't it ?
