Man Arrested At Burger King For Going Nuts When Fries Run Out
Police: Man Berates Burger King Staff For Running Out Of Fries
Dubois, Pennsylvania -- A man angrily berated fast-food employees and nearly hit a worker with his truck when a drive-thru clerk told him the restaurant was out of french fries, police said. Gregg Luttman, 22, remained in the Clearfield County Jail on Monday, unable to post bond on assault, reckless endangerment and other charges stemming from the confrontation at the Burger King restaurant in Sandy Township about 5 p.m. New Year's Day. Township police Sgt. Rod Fairman said Luttman made an obscene gesture to the drive-thru clerk, then entered the building with another man. Luttman repeatedly cursed at the restaurant staff then walked back to his vehicle; when he noticed restaurant workers taking down his license number, Luttman revved his pickup in reverse, nearly hitting one of the employees, Fairman said. Police stopped the truck a short distance away on Route 255, where Luttman scuffled with police, kicking out the back window of a police cruiser after he was handcuffed, Fairman said. Luttman was charged with resisting arrest, drunken driving, fleeing police, reckless driving, harassment, disorderly conduct and institutional vandalism (for allegedly damaging the police car). The results of a blood-alcohol test on Luttman weren't available Monday, Fairman said. Luttman's father said his son has an attorney but he didn't know his name. The elder Luttman said his son has had run-ins with local police and said they don't like his son. Fairman said he's never before dealt with Gregg Luttman. The man with Luttman wasn't charged, but was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant, police said.

I saw this story in the paper under the headline: "Real Life 'Falling Down'". Like the movie with Michael Douglas.
