Pen and Paper RPGs....

Anyone ever play any classic RolePlaying games? Past or Present?

What were they? Which ones did you like and/or want?

I played a ton of em:
Toon
D&D
AD&D
Rfits
Heroes Unlimited (and TMNT)
Vampire: The Masquerade
I have Call of Cthulhu, but never played it.

Advanced Dungeons and Dragons was always my poison. They had the best game worlds back in 2nd edition. Of course there was and always will be DragonLance and Forgotten realms. But i was addicted to Ravenloft, Spelljammer, and Dark Sun respectively too. Planescape took some getting used to (i loved the 1rst edition planes rules and descriptions. back when a devil was a fucking devil, not a "BAatezu"....), but i learned to love it....

The main ones I played were:
AD&D
Shadowrun (a game I ran for my friends)
Cyberpunk
Rifts

Another thing I did was create my own pen & paper RPG. Which is one thing I think the old style RPG's had over the new ones: that you could create your own world and role playing game and then have your friends play it. You don't see too many people programming their own MMORPG's.

i used to play all of them at one time or another. but one of my favorites was gamma world. it was set after the nuclear war, and you have mutants and stuff. we grew up in a very religious town, but there was one hobby shop that sold rpg. it was the best place. when they went out of business, i went in there and bought a lot of real old games for cheap, some of it is collectors editions.
