just curious

walking on thin ice here with this lot of ruffians ... but ..

did anyone here see Day After Tomorrow ?

I watched it last night expecting to absolutely hate it .. but to my suprise i didnt.

It actually affected me. Probably because it presented itself as almost a documentary .. very limited unnessessary drama .. You got a sense that these things very well could happen.
The effects were pretty damn convincing too.

I felt tired and depressed at the end but that is actually a testament to how very real the movie seemed.

Not being a scientist or meteorologist I couldn't tell you
how feasable any of those things were but it sure seemed well thought out.

Am i the only person who thought this was actually a very well made effective movie ?

Kind of ironic that the movie based on a factual event (Titanic) came off as far more fictional, than Day After ..an actual piece of fiction.

I also enjoyed it. Plus, its pretty hard to hate Jake Gyllenhal(sp?)

The only thing i didnt like (outside of the cgi wolves  ) Was the guy cutting himself loose into the mall part. Unnecessary "loss of a goodguy" scene. kinda like Kristy dying in Alien Ressurection. Just blatantly kill a character to remind people that it may happen to a character they actually care about.

I really got a kick out of the obvious bush/cheney reference with the president and VP.

i noticed something odd about the wolves too ..i suspected CGI but I wasnt sure..

I can see what you're saying about the guy who cut himself loose ..
My impression was that they were trying to stress the danger these 3 guys were in ... it did seem like they were having a relatively easy go of it until then.

I can see what you mean though .. either way i was still overwhealmed by how real the storms looked .. and the possibility of this coming to pass ...

Loved it!! Saw it in the theater and then rented it when it came out on DVD cause I wanted to see it again. If I don't get it for Christmas I'll buy it myself.
