Why I should quit smoking
so I haven't had a cigarette in 3 days but I've been trying to convince myself that I have no reason to quit. my friend quit (it's been 2 weeks now) and I was kind of impressed with her ability to just give up smoking. I toyed with the idea for a few days, didn't give it too much thought. While smoking outside in the rain alone, I decided I too would quit smoking. why? I don't really know. now I'm not totally sure what to do, I could fight off the cravings but for what real reasons?
why should I quit smoking?

It would make your breath stop smelling like poo.
That's a pretty good argument right there..

There is no reason to unless you want to... You know all the risks etc...
So if you want to quit then quit... but if you don't feel like it then light one up ....

So you don't end up going outside in the rain alone to smoke a cigarette?

Its similar to how I quit a few years ago.
Had no real desire to but woke up one morning, didnt have any cigs left, no cash on me and couldnt be arsed going the cash machine to draw some out. Went the entire day without smoking and when I got up the next day thought about seeing how long I could last. It stuck. Whether you quit now or later I think the trick is dont think about it, just do it. Dont listen to people who moan about how tough it is, thats BS. Once the decision has been made, just stop. Easy peasy. You're sucking up a lungful of joy right now aren't you? ;)

I was a at a smoky party one time, puffing on a cigarette and it just hit me... All of a sudden I thought, "Hey these things are disgusting." I gave away the rest of my pack and then went about 8 months without having a cigarette.
Then, 8 months later, I went in to a gas station for milk and while I was checking out, I absentmindedly asked for a pack of Camels. I got back out in my car and was like "What the fuck? Why'd I just buy a pack of smokes?" Seemed like destiny so I started smoking again and have been for the last few years. Now with a baby on the way, the wife is really wanting me to quit so I told her I would before it's born provided I can buy a Wii with all the money I save. She thought that was fair so that's the deal. I got about 5 months to quit, but I now know I can do it cold turkey without any problems. It's simple mind over matter. You can quit if you want to. If you don't want to, it'll be tough because your mind keeps telling you that you want one.
