EXACTLY. And most times they break said rules they think they're pulling it off and making the other areas work, when they're actually making a train wreck.
It was just an example. I need to rewatch the Halloween series. I only watched each one once and it was before I ever watched Fri13.

Very true. Im glad the Horror genre seems free to try new things, but the slasher got boringly formulaic real fast.
The original Halloween is the only excellent film of the series. (critics/ratings confirm that assertion). A lot of Horror fans like them all. Halloween 2 has some effective moments, but coincidentally, doesnt develop likable characters. Even lovable Laurie is reduced to a blubbering mute who simply moves to different rooms; while even The Bogeyman & Loomis arent developed.
