Picked this up over the Memorial Day weekend:

Paid more than I'm normally accustomed to, $14 with tax (ouch!) but it seemed too important to let pass by. Don't like the idea of it being abridged (13, 000 words removed from the body in true slasher fashion) but de Camp assures the reader mostly "repetitions, digressions, and speculative
obiter dicta" fell to the blade.
