I think its a cool idea, can you imagine someone finding this old VHS tape and having to either hunt out a VCR or have it digitally converted. I just read that news from the director. I guess so called news sites post just about anything these days.
I still have a VHS. I wonder how much they could modernize The Ring without making it too digital. Wasn't there already some kind of Internet horror movie? Or maybe that cellphone one that was really bad. I think that was a Japanese remake too.

It is a good Japanese horror remake. Probably the best or at least top three.
