Definitely did.
This idea had potential - I can see a plotline about Weyland-Yutani being more involved, a corporate politics/bioweapons angle, the derelict spaceship from LV-426 (with the eggs) lifted into a giant storehouse, it's contents (read eggs) emptied, and Ripley disguised as a space jockey, probably sent to the Alien/Space Jockey homeworld under disguise, with Hicks and a new, better, stronger, larger Marines team accompanying her. (Newt is probably held by the corporate honchos, hence blackmailing Ripley into this new mission)
