I don't know if it needs to be a whole new re-make, I'd be happy with a re-editing of Jeepers Creepers 1 with the original pre-cut budget for the Creeper.
My heart really went out to Mr Salva when I listened to his director commentary. You can hear how disappointed he was with the end result of all the cuts that were made during production.
His descriptions of his original vision are really cool. I hope someday, he can bring those descriptions to life.
