I think you will love it-make sure you see The Director's Cut though :)
The Cabin In The Woods (2012)
This is made out of pure unadulterated love of horror, there are so many references to other horror films it's impossible to count. But despite this this still manages to impress and stand alone as a great movie in its own right. There's plenty of CGI enhanced (like in The Midnight Meat Train and Adam Chaplin) gore to satisfy hounds like me but there is also a multi-layered mystery to give it some substance. In a way this film defines the genre whilst offering it up as fresh and genuinely exciting. A much needed shot in the arm for those who feel slightly jaded as this cleverly turns any approaching cynicism completely on its head. Manages to be both graphic and subtle which really is quite an accomplishment as it is backed by some thrillingly suspenseful scenes. Can not recommend this enough :)
