Summer is over, Autumn is here. Though some hot weather may remain, we must concede defeat (and start gleefully moving towards Samhain).
But I thought it might be nice to relive your summery holiday/vacation fun as a final farewell to the happier time.
This year I was fortunate enough to go on two holidays. Firstly there was the family one - a week in Florida followed by a week cruising around the Caribbean. Though we've done Florida 5 times now, it never gets too dull and the theme parks were as wonderful as ever (particularly enjoyed the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at IoA).
The following week in the Caribbean was magnificent. Though we were only there for a short period of time, it gave me a wonderful flavour of the Steel Drum life. Though seeing the amount of poverty and depravity scarcely hidden beneath the tourist attractions was upsetting, I confess that the white sand, palm trees and coconuts distracted me.
And, of course, making friends on the cruise line was wonderful. ESPECIALLY as I wasn't used to the drinking restrictions of America (21? REALLY?!) and they could help with that...made me feel young again ;)
The second holiday is one I've just today returned from. A week in Prague with David, my boyfriend, which was incredibly relaxing. The beautifully pastel surroundings, wonderful food and (luckily) bright weather made for a very enjoyable time. The food left a LITTLE to be desired, as the notion of serving any type of vegetable with a meal didn't seem to appeal to them and I found myself sweating meat and carbs. But nonetheless, adored it!
And now for YOUR holiday experiences, children...
