The ‘Evil Dead’ Remake Is At Least An R, “So Bloody It Will Make Your Head Spin”

Director Fede Alvarez recently wrapped up photography on Evil Dead, FilmDistrict and Ghost House Pictures’ remake of Sam Raimi’s 1981 cult-hit horror classic, that was shot in Auckland, New Zealand.
Raimi told Collider, “It’s really bloody. It’s so bloody, it will make your head spin. I’ve seen almost all the dailies and they’re really going for it. It’s gonna be grisly and intense and non-stop.”
Does that mean it will have to be R-rated then? “Definitely R. Maybe worse.”

The film was written by Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues (with a polish by Diablo Cody) is produced by Sam Raimi (
Spider-Man); Rob Tapert (
30 Days of Night) and Bruce Campbell who played the popular Ash character in the original trilogy.
The film is due in theaters on April 12th, 2013.
