It was an interesting birthday, to say the least.
My lovely partner bought us a private day tour of vineyards in the Hunter Valley, which is one of the main wine producing regions in New South Wales (near Sydney). We were picked up from home and driven to the Hunter Valley by a professional winemaker who took us to vineyards, showed us inside the wine making facilities, and instructed us on professional wine tasting.
Unfortunately, I happened to pick up some viral gastro bug, and by the time we got to the Hunter Valley I was looking for a bathroom to vomit. This was all before I had the chance to consume any wine. :( Felt completely fine before I left, but by the time we arrived it was all over.
Needless to say, the day was cut short, and I felt so bad for my partner who had gone to so much trouble (and no doubt huge expense) to organise this.
