The Exorcist definitely goes down as my number one most frightening movie. There are scenes from that film that make my hair stand up, literally. The Ring is a close second. That was the first and only time since childhood that I kept the lights on for as long as I could before going to sleep. I habitually fall asleep with the TV on and for a solid week I left the TV in my bedroom unplugged.

The Blair Witch Project got me good but I know the majority of people don't get it. While growing up, my family and I would go camping quite often in the woods of New England. The sounds you hear in that film are the standard sounds of the night. After seeing that, those sounds are never the same again. Last, but not least, is the original Halloween, one of my top five all-time horror flicks. It's not "frightening", per se, but more creepy. The methodical movements and gestures of Michael Myers were something that always stuck with me.
