Watched it a few times and started a thread
here about it a while back. It's very grim, I agree, but well worth watching. I'm pretty fascinated by nuclear war but didn't fully consider the implications of a bomb on the generations after in the detail this movie shows. I mean, it's easy to say "and then there's a nuclear winter" but when you see it in this film, when you see everything in this film...it stays with you. I've recently bought it on DVD as well...only £4 from Amazon which is pretty good considering it'll probably not be shown on TV anytime soon.
