Annette Charles, best known for her saucy role as Cha Cha in Grease, died last night in Los Angeles due to complications from cancer, her rep confirmed.

Charles, who will always be remembered for outdancing all of Rydell High with John Travolta, was 63-years-old.

According to TMZ, "Annette had recently started having difficulty breathing ... and when she went to the doctor she learned that she had a cancerous tumor in one of her lungs."

Mary Cardona, who spoke with Access Hollywood, confirmed that her daughter died in her home in Los Angeles after being hospitalized for one month. This is the second Grease star this year that that has died, following Jeff Conway’s death in May, who was known for his role as Kenickie.

Fans will remember the sexy star delivering her most famous line from the 1978 flick, when she showed up at a Rydell High dance and won the nationally televised competition with Travolta, aka, T-Bird leader Danny Zuko.

"They call me Cha Cha. Because I'm the best dancer at St. Bernadette's," she says.

After her dance career and role on the big screen, Charles went on to teach speech at California State University.

In 2002, Charles, the ultimate hand-jiver and creator of the danceoff, revisited her character in a VH-1 Where Are They Now? special.
