Well, before people even get into movies, there are some great series streaming on Netflix:
Twin Peaks, Party Down, Firefly, The Munsters, Dead Like Me, tons of MST3K, Kids in the Hall, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Twilight Zone, The X Files, and so on.
As for movies, I would check out some of the Jean Rollin films they have on there. There are some Hammer films available for streaming, too.
Other than that, what kind of stuff are you keen on watching?
