I'll give it a whirl... And just fast-forward through the kitty scenes.
(Honestly, it's weird, seeing animals harmed in film bother me more than seeing humans harmed in film, but I digress)...

My Soul to Take (2010)
I honestly thought that this was pretty bad - All of the characters were 2-dimensional and unlikeable. And the ending was pretty lame. I really only watched it since many a SOUL on here had the review: "It wasn't THAT bad," which is sometimes all we can hope for out of a horror film... But I just thought it was kinda lame.
Oddly enough, I'd prefer a
I Know What You Did Last Summer over this silly teen slasher.
2/5.

Gone Baby Gone (2007)
After really enjoying
The Town, I figured that it was time that I sit down and finally watch
Gone Baby Gone and, honestly, I loved it. Definitely more complex than
The Town,
Gone Baby Gone explores a couple of pretty interesting moral dilemmas... Different concepts of Right and Wrong - Corruption for the Greater Good - And it was done fairly subtly and left ultimately ambiguous...
Casey Affleck was incredible as a Boston hometown PI and Ed Harris was simply phenomenal. My biggest qualm with the film, honestly, was Morgan Freeman - This is supposed to be some kind of gritty portrayal of Boston's Southie and here's Morgan Freeman as the chief investigator... Just didn't really fit in. I felt as though he was MORGAN FREEMAN leading the investigation, not Sargent Jack Doyle - They probably needed a big name, but I'd prefer someone who could actually pass as being from Boston (hey, Ed Harris did).
Also - Amy Ryan as the coked out mother was AMAZING - I had only seen her as Holly on
The Office - Didn't realize that she had acting range. She was really fantastic.
Some of the writing was a little weak at times, but I found this movie captivating. It really made me re-question my stance on crime dramas (I used to name that particular cinematic genre as one of my least favorites) - Turns out, if it's a GOOD crime drama, it's a good movie.
