So have you all heard about "The walking dead weekly"? It's essentially re-releasing the whole series from issue #1 at a lower price, released weekly...I thought this was a great idea for those who have seen the show and want more, or even those that have never seen/heard of either series to get their heads into it.
Well, there's that or the collections, either's good.

I haven't - We just pick up the collected volumes when they're out. That's actually pretty cool, though.

Best American Comics 2010
I love this series - I read it every year. It's a great way to sample what's out in comics over the course of the year and become introduced with authors and artists you might otherwise not have heard of. Through the selected excerpts, I was introduced to the below fantastic graphic novels that I just consumed:
Omega: The Unknown (2008)
This graphic novel "re-envisions" the original
Omega the Unknown (1975) and places the story in a modern New York City. An understated pulp homage, I honestly think that genre fans will absolutely adore this comic and I HIGHLY recommend it (though the ending absolutely and positively sucked).

Asterios Polyp (2009)
An unconventional character-piece, this beautifully illustrated graphic novel tells the tale of Asterios Polyp - His life, how it fell apart, and how he tries to make sense of it all. I really fell in love with the characters, especially his ex-wife Hana. Fantastic read. Highly recommended.
