I would rather see the classic villains pitted against each other, because I think there are even MORE similarities between Remake Michael (hereby referred to as RMichael) and RJason. They're not different enough really to make an interesting film so the selling point would be RFreddy. However, if it is done with the remake fellows, I think it could work like this:

I think since FvJ was set mainly in Springwood, it'd be interesting to see the film take place in Haddonfield. I dunno, perhaps there's a sporting event which pits the kids of Haddonfield High against those of Springwood. That would explain how Freddy gets into town. And perhaps Jason discovers that the girl who killed his mother (who I don't think is NAMED in the remake) was from Haddonfield and he goes to take out his anger in the town. As his murders take place, the media assumes Michael is back.

One of the Springwood kids thus has a nightmare about MICHAEL which Freddy invades. He finds out about the new wave of Michael attacks (even though really they're Freddy) and decides to have a bit of fun. Michael is out in the middle of nowhere, surviving as best he can when Freddy invades his dream and tells him just to have a chat. Upon finding Michael in the middle of nowhere, he realises Michael can't be doing the killings. He tells Michael about it all. Michael heads home, Jason is there.

I think that's the basic way of getting the three fellas together in the same spot for the rest of the film to ensue.
