Well, I'm not an old-timer but I grew up watching
Son of Svengoolie in Chicago. I absolutely loved it as a kid (I still watch from time to time; he's still on). I also loved Zacherle. I had a bunch of VHS tapes of him, and an autographed portrait too!
I've always really thought it was a shame that horror hosting is a dying thing. It's the ultimate thing to do when you're at home at night, just relax with some popcorn maybe, turn the lights down, and watch an old horror movie with some goofiness in-between. I'd love to see a revival happen.
