Pretty much everything you just listed. That was a pretty big chunk of it. To further get into Link Wray a little bit... I think he was the King of instrumentals. He also had a great voice. I heard the reason he rarely sang was because he had only the use of 1 lung or something like that. Some argue that he was what started punk rock. After listening to some of his early stuff, I'd have to agree.
Just to throw out 2 sub genres... Surf instrumentals and Psychedelic instrumentals have always appealed to me.
You'll also find a lot of no hit wonder garage bands that play a lot of brilliant, but unheard instrumentals. Garage music from the mid 60's is just fantastic. It's usually very fuzzy and brash at the same time.

On a side note... how do you embed youtube videos into posts? All the other forums I visit have a youtube icon, or a film reel you can click that allows you to insert a youtube link. I haven't found that while posting.
