Nikutai no mon (Gate of Flesh) (1964)
An enthralling, brutal pulp-drama as well as a potent commentary on a particular time in history; a gang of prostitutes makes a ruthless existence among the steaming mess of crime and debasement that is WWII-devastated Tokyo. One of Suzuki's greatest works; a subversive pseudo-exploitation masterpiece, complete with his hyper-stylized flair. If you haven't seen this yet, absoluuuuutely do it.
