There's no documentation - anywhere - about a serial killer named Thomas Hewitt.
If there were existing film of this guy attacking someone with a chainsaw I guarantee you that he would be more well-known by now than Gein, Gacy, etc.
If there were existing film of anyone attacking cops with a chainsaw I guarantee you that it would have been floating around the internet for years now.
If this film existed, and they included it in the new TCM, police departments and victims families would be all over the news crawling up the asses of the filmmakers.
Is there anyplace where
-the people who made the new TCM talked about being inspired by the real Hewitt family murders?
-Tobe Hooper and Kim Henkel talked about being inspired by the real Hewitt family murders?
-anybody has written anything about a serial killer with the last name of Hewitt?
