Faust. No, not that one...the one from 1993 with Jeffrey Combs and Andrew Divoff based off the comic. Everybody on the planet thinks this is the worst piece of crap ever, but I think gritty surrealistic superheroism like that should be done more often. Maybe the dialogue was stupid, maybe it was prurient, perverted and nonsensical, but there are reasons to watch it. Also, Freddy vs. Jason. A lot of people dump on it, but I think it has more of a brain than half of the idiotic entries in either series. I'm tired of Franchise Horror Fugues. It's a terrible condition people get when watching crappy Franchise Horror at points in their life where they're barely sentient and don't have especially developed opinions and end up thinking EVERY Nightmare on Elm Street movie deserves to be on the AFI top 100 list. I think people's lack of franchise horror perspective makes them dislike Freddy vs. Jason. Look at those flat characters, unnecessary nudity, nonsensical plot, byzantine and pointlessly elaborate kills, the poor acting...like in every other one of those damn movies! But at least somebody tries to tie things together, examines what each of the characters means and makes a movie that actually looks half decent, if a little too glossy at times. Last time I checked, Billy Wilder didn't direct Jason Takes Manhattan.
