You kids have been smoking way too much hippie lettuce... The Dawn of the Dead remake is one of the BEST zombie flicks ever and the events in the mall are crucial to the story/character development. Plus, I felt the entire mall sequence added a sense of reality to the concept of a zombie apocalypse.... even epic catastrophes will have down time.

Best Remakes:
Night of the Living Dead (1990 Savini)
Dawn of the Dead (2004 Snyder)
The Grudge (2004)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)
Evil Dead II (1987.. I consider it a re-make and not a sequel)
The Thing (1982)

Worst Remakes:
Shutter (2008)
Pulse (2006)
Friday the 13th (2009)
The Amityville Horror (2005)
Dark Water (2005)
The Haunting (1999)
The Wicker Man (2006)
