I can't believe there's a horror fan out there that hasn't seen The Thing nor can I believe you haven't seen a version of Frankenstein after 1910.
Its really hard to call any Frankenstein film made after 1910 a remake of the Edison one - that version is very different than the source material (if i remember correctly) and the monster was created thru alchemy not science. If that ia your reasoning than every version of The Hound of the Baskervilles is a remake of the 1915 german film..

Also to be fair to the Thing it does include alot from the story tha wasn't in the 50's version (the original movie monster wasn't a shape shifter).
