After Dark Films has picked up ZMD: Zombies of Mass Destruction, director Kevin Hamedani's horror comedy.
The film will join After Dark's 2010 Horrorfest lineup, which is coming to theaters on January 29, 2010.
The Horrorfest marks the fourth year for the "8 Films to Die For" series.
ZMD joins the titles DREAD, Hidden, The Graves and Lake Mungo in the fest.
ZMD is the tale of a conservative island community that's under attack. "Port Gamble, Washington is being overrun with brain eaters," a company press release tells us, "and the people seem powerless to stave them off. A rag tag band of rebels led by Frida (Janette Armand), an Iranian college student suspected of being an Iraqi terrorist, and Tom (Doug Fahl), a gay business man who has returned to town with his partner to come out to his mother, tries to turn the tide and push the invading hoards of undead back."
"We are so pleased to offer up a gory, sharp film with such social relevance," said After Dark Films Executive Stephanie Caleb. "It brings a new level of variety to this year's fest and we're happy to have such a fun film to share with our fans."
