I laughed out loud many times.
The only flaws I found were the somewhat cheesey mask the big bad evil guy was wearing- it was pretty fake looking, and one instance of a musical cue that drew attention to itself. Minor complaints in an otherwise wonderfully done film.
Part of the After Dark Filmfest III.

Chrono- you'd love it.
Seen it and you're right; definitely did love it. I believe it's the same people (or at least the same production company) who did Severance, which I also loved - Have you seen that one? It's a favorite of mine.

Blade Trinity

I enjoyed this mostly on a hot people running around in skimpy clothes and kicking ass kind of level (Jessica Biel and Ryan Reynolds - droooooooooooooool). Definitely some fun action scenes and I really liked how they brought in human harvesting (which was omitted from the first film) as well as Dracula. I generally enjoy Parker Posey, but her makeup and lisp bothered me and distracted me from her being our big villain... But that's OK... Long scenes with Ryan Reynolds topless made up for it.

Fun action movie with little else going for it.

The Gift

A well-constructed character piece with some genuinely sympathetic characters and solid acting (though I have a hard time with Keanu portraying the threat that he does in the film). Kate Blanchett was beautiful and spot-on and she had a decent supporting cast. I'm not generally into "mystery/thrillers," but the characters were compelling enough that I enjoyed this film. The end/reveal was all too obvious, though, which was a massive disappointment. Regardless, it was great to see another Raimi film that's not the Evil Dead (I haven't seen a whole lot of them; I'm trying to make up for lost time now); he definitely knows how to create a successful creepy mood.

Not a great movie, but good.

3/5.
