Halloween 2 (1981)
A brand new 35mm print (struck from the master for this event) played this weekend at the New Beverly Cinema, my favorite place on earth. The film looked amazing and I hadn't seen it in at least a decade. The screening sold out and at least a hundred people were turned away at the door (I got in for free because I know the guys running the screening). It was an awesome night.
I still feel the same way about the film. Although it ends perfectly, the film is a boring, suspense-free re-hash of the original with less likable characters, an annoying take on the score and weak direction.
