A little late to this thread, but...
THE WILD BUNCH - Man, if you aren't horrified by those kids at the beginning of the movie, you may not have a soul. The rest of the movie is just great as well.
LEONE's WESTERNS - Honestly, there isn't a bad one in the bunch. THE GOOD, THE BAD and THE UGLY is particularly recommended. One of the great cinematic showdowns of all time between Van Cleef and Eastwood.
THE ROAD WARRIOR (aka MAD MAX II) - Totally a western, and a damn fine one at that.
BRING ME THE HEAD OF ALBERTO GARCIA - Stretching "western" a bit, as it's really a crime drama set in Mexico, but there's plenty of western feel to it, and it centers around a severed head that various parties want and will kill over.
THE LIFE AND TIMES OF JUDGE ROY BEAN - Man, this one is off the rails. The seventies were a crazy, crazy time in Hollywood.
