Perhaps its just me, but I haven't heard much "hype" regarding the wrestler at all. Most people I ask about say they haven't seen/haven't heard about it, however I did leave the US while it was only out it select theaters.
another thing that disappointed me about this years Oscars is that Springsteen's brilliant song he did for the wrestler didn't get a nomination, whilst that garbage song from Slumdog won.

There's been lots of hype going around in the states with people declaring 2009 and
The Wrestler as Mickey Rourke's comeback and "The Ressurection of Mickey Rourke."
