As a whole, we need to pump more money into science. We made it to the moon fifty years ago; we should have at least small permanent mining colonies by now. I'm not too savvy on world events, but for the US at least, there's no excuse for us to not throw billions of dollars at alternative energy. We're falling apart at the seams right now, and it's all our own fault. We have this entire barren era of flat land we like to call the midwest with nary a wind farm. For those of you in the know, if there's one thing that part of the country isn't short on, it's wind. We have plenty of south western desert that we can convert into solar farms.

That's definitely a step in the right direction, IMHO.
well yeah, there's that....but FREE BEER would be good too.
