That's interesting because I actually immediately compared
Rest Stop to
Wrong Turn in that I thought it was significantly better. I thought that Rest Stop was better directed and, as a whole, created a more interesting atmosphere than Wrong Turn (with Wrong Turn, you know you're just dealing with yocals gone wrong - With Rest Stop, I felt as though it was going to be some kind of purgatory metaphor; there was just more going on that kept my interest).
I haven't seen Vacancy - I'll have to check it out - Thanks!!

I have to admit, I couldn't help but think it seemed full of unfulfilled possibilities, so it really comes off more as a long episode of the show. That being said, it's not necessarily a bad thing. I really enjoyed the series, so it was really quite a pleasant way to spend an hour and half, just like watching the show.
If you're a fan of the series, then I don't think it'll let you down (except Rube is gone, and Daisy is played by a different actress, and thus she's pretty much a completely different character). I thought all of the players reprised their roles quite well. I also heard that the success of this film could bring about a resurrection of either the show, or another film perhaps, if sales are good enough. So be sure to buy a copy of the DVD.
At any rate, definitely recommended for fans of the show. I'm not sure it has too much to offer to anyone that didn't watch Dead Like Me, although I could be wrong.
