I was incredibly impressed with Quarantine. I thought that it was well-done, well-acted, and incredibly well-directed. My only problem with the movie is that I found our main heroine to be incredibly obnoxious. However, I thought that the movie captured both human paranoia, human horror, and human and non-human monsters.
I
highly recommend Quarantine. While I have not yet seen [Rec] (having a HELL of a time getting my hands on it), Quarantine is an excellent horror movie. I'm actually a bit baffled that more people didn't get into it. I'm wondering if it's:
- The true horror enthusiasts saw the original, loved it, and scoff at the remake
and
- The non-horror enthusiasts just don't like it (they're probably sick of the whole shaky cam thing
Regardless - This movie was incredibly underrated and I recommend it.
