I didn't go into Saw V expecting anything other than inventive death scenes and a haphazzardly thrown together script.
They had to tire their killer into the story told in the previous four flicks. At times this seemed tedious to watch, but it did give the film a different pace and slightly different feel than the rest in the series. The death scenes were fresh and inventive as expected. Yeah the ending was an obvious lead-in to another flick, but we all knew that was coming anyways.
