Warner Bros. is set to hire Martin Campbell to direct DC Comics adaptation Green Lantern, with the parties now in negotiations.
Campbell, most famous for directing two of the best modern Bonds - Casino Royale and GoldenEye - replaces Greg Berlanti, who wrote the script and was initially set to direct.
The trade mag reports that Green Lantern is now the top DC Comics priority for studio Warner Bros., with JLA and another Superman movie both continuing to stall, and Christopher Nolan taking his time over a third Batman film.
Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green co-wrote the script with Berlanti, whilst Body of Lies producer Donald De Line is overseeing.
Warner Bros. next job will be to find an actor to play the iconic character, with Aaron Eckhart and Ryan Gosling previously rumoured for the role.
Before he gets cracking on Green Lantern, Campbell will have to finish post-production on the Mel Gibson starring thriller Edge of Darkness.
