Round 1, Match 1
Cocaine

A designer drug which hit its height in the 70's/80's. Originally chewed by native South Americans, coca was introduced in the new world and embraced as a medical stimulant. After it was outlawed, many people who were addicted were forced to suffer through harsh post addiction laws that wound them up in prison. A stimulant, cocaine still remains one of the most profitable black market drugs today.
VS.
Fast Food
Although mainly thought of as a creation of capitalist America, the idea of fast food has been around since ancient Roman times. Greasy, quick and cheap, the fast food franchise restaurant is possibly 60% or more responsible for obesity problems throughout the world. Made a villain by the movie Supersize Me, the fast food chain remains a staple of modern life and the whipping boy of nutritionalists throughout the world. As long as people are drunk or high at 1:00am, the fast food menu will always thrive.
