I wouldn't recommend being a professional writer to anybody who wouldn't give it their all. As a way to earn a living, it's on par with collecting empty soda bottles. But, if you want to put in the time and the energy, which the time and energy you put into these posts seems to indicate, you'll do fine. Make sure to have a dayjob, though, because it can be very rough going for awhile. I think looking into competitions for young writers (particularly genre oriented ones) will help you get serious and learn about the craft early, which I always recommend for people who are interested. People who pull writing out of their ass as a profession after college really annoy me. People who think writing is an easy way to make money and get famous annoy me more. Writing is only as easy a way to make money and get famous as becoming an actor, musician or director.
