The purples are very good for salads.
As I've just been given a hydroponic setup (heh, a birthday "surprise") that I'm not supposed to know about yet **lets hear it for very obvious friends**
I might be trying out some in there, yknow among other things.
My purple kind've got butchered, grew too many chillis and wiped itself out a bit...it's still alive and well, just small and not really doing much.
I saw the (?not sure of name) black round ones growing on an almost purple tree at the local organic markets, I'll be buying one of those soon.
