i understand the appeal of grain - but i also appreciate seeing a movie without tracking problems and actually being able to see what the hell is going on when someone's being chased through the woods with an axe - or in a dark dorm hallway.

if i wanted suspense without being able to see anything - i'd listen to old radio programs :)
Couldn't have said it better.

I have over 1,000 movies on VHS, and I'm scared to even try playing the things. I don't want to know which ones do and don't work.
