Anyone on here join the Army, Marines, Navy, etc. Or have fought in war? Im really interested in the stories I have read on the internet i wonder if anyone on here has any.

your timing couldnt be better.. 3 years ago i would have said "you will most likely end up in iraq at some point which means you will most likely be shot at at siome point"

Now with obama, i doubt you will have to worry about anythign like that. That being said, I have mixed feelings about it. I grew up an Air Force brat, from birth to 17. there was a lot of good and a lot of bad.

These days, there is a good chance you could get a position doing something you love. Figure out what it is you like and ask yourself if they offer opportunities for that; if the marines dont, one of the other branches might.

Dont let anyone scare you, make an informed decision. there is a strong "boys club" aspect to the whole thing which can be good and bad, but its been my experience in the corporate world that a military background can help.

There is an assumption by a lot of people that military = disciplined, ESPECIALLY marines. plus, military guys even from different brnaches, will stick together a lot of times.

In some cases, it can work against you; some peopel hate the military and will discriminate, but that is what the court system is for ;)
