Seems people are happy to pay extra, and ever increasing prices for these kind've things, but when it comes to the practical purchase of fuel, they get cheap...?
*A train ticket going as little as 2 stops is about $4AUD.
Now unless you've got a real gas guzzler of a car to an insane level, you could drive the same distance there and back on a litre of fuel which at the highest of high prices here might be $1.90AUD, leave when you want - not subject to timetables and inefficient service, you can control (in most cases) the temperature, you can move (in most cases) up to 4 people rather than just yourself, you don't have to put up with strangers, you can listen to music, and generally get there quicker and more efficiently. For less.

So what the fuck...? Just because it was "this much less" like 10 years ago?
Inflation. Actually happens with everything.
I think it's time people shut up about this one.

Over £1GBP a litre is a lot. That's over $2.27AUD and nearly $1.50USD. And how many people have to buy over 50 one litre bottles of Coke a few times a month?
