chee - thanks for the advice. This comp has been running for just about 2 years now. Aside from the 5 falls, which were way back in the beginning. its been fine. Which is why i have come to the conclusion that it mus tbe the fan. i have noticed that the fan has been running a LOT more than it used to. i could understand it running during photoshop but now it will run when im just using AIM.
Sometimes it will make a small pop sound and just shut off. My guess is that it is too hot. FOr now, i want to wait and get the new comp and transfer all my shit over before attempting to clean it out. At the same time though, if i were to clean it out and find out it WAS just the fan being clogged, then hell thatll be $800+ saved.
ah well. maybe ill do it tonight! wish me luck.....
