I had this exact same post on the right one like a month ago. The movie is great, but what happened in the end? I sware everyone has there own ending. I have already stated mine, but here it is again. I think that donnie's mom went to the past and wished him to die happy and not be crazy. So he wasn't crazy that is why he didn't go see frank that night, and he was happy so that is why he is laughing. I heard from somewhere that the movie was based on a story. You might have read it in high school Literature. I did. The story is in civil war time, a guy tried to destroy a bridge that was vital to the union. He was caught and hung, the rope snapped and he got away, but right at the end of the story you find out that he imagined what would of happened if he lived, so he actually died. Hmmmmm???? What do you think?
