The X Files movie was a weird one. I can see why so many people hated it, but if you went in knowing that Carter had said it was a movie-length episode I don't think you'd be that disappointed. I wasn't. Much. It wasn't great, but I found it satisfying - and the storyline was killer.
I was aware that something had really bothered me about it, though, and one of the above posters just revealed it to me. I think. Mulder and Scully's chemistry did seem to have gone. Fine, they were in the situation they were in and it worked - but the actors seemed to have lost it a bit. I was severely disappointed by some of the attitudes the characters expressed, particularly Scully in being completely unsupportive of Mulder even though she'd presented him with the case in the first place. Although it was understandable she wants to "stay away from the darkness", the friction between them was too over the top and unbelieveable. She'd leave him just because he's spending some time with a psychic? Nah.
I DO hope for another movie, though. On December 22, 2012. Now that would be amazing.
